We all know that there are a small number of young fanciers in the sport today. This, the first of a set of weekly discussions, asks you the fancier… Are we doing enough to encourage more youngsters to take up our great sport?
Please discuss using the comments below…
When I first started racing back in 76, it was an older mans sport then. It was only that my grandad used to race that I got into it. I think as a sport we can do loads more to get young kids involved. It is a hard thing though, we are competing against playstation and xbox now- when I was a kid it was playing down the park with your mates.
The world has changed, and I think to attract the younguns, the sport may need to change a bit too!!
